Configuring TOIL / Hourly Leave type while everything else is set to days

Hi all,

I am in a bit of a tricky situation that I haven't found a way out of yet. For the majority of our Leave Types they operate at Full/half days however for TOIL these are often given out as hours if someone has worked extra over a weekend or late in the evening.

Is there a way to have this setup inside D365 HR or is it not possible? I am interested if anyone has had a similar issue and thought of a possible work around. I suppose its a back end limitation as I am sure that this must be a fairly common occurrence or I am just missing something obvious.

Kind regards,

Matt

    Hello Matthew,

Thank you for the question - there was a previous forum thread related to the subject, but not sure how relevant it might still be but worth being aware of:

    https://community.dynamics.com/365/humanresources/f/dynamics-365-for-humanresources-forum/306852/toil---time-of-in-lieu/887164

It appears that this might be possible, and may involve setting up the in lieu leave as a leave plan with accrual setup as None so nothing accrues, i.e. creating a plan type of Toil, and then the plan itself to correspond to the amount of overtime hours. Although if they are given out in a way differently, that might require a bit more setup. It also may involve switching the unit for leave and absence to hours instead of days / half days, but that would then be a global change for all plan types.

Otherwise anything explicitly configurable for Time in Lieu of plan types does not appear identified in the product at this time. For reference, will also put the overview for leave and absence below:

    Thanks C.Shenk!

Unfortunately the link doesn't really cover what I am looking for. The main issue is that the Company uses Days/Half days as their holiday allowance, but issues TOIL hourly if someone works late one evening or over the weekend.

I have setup a Leave Plan called TOIL such as your example, but if I want to assign it as hours I would have to do it in multiples of 0.41666666666 which is a bit unwieldly.

From a back end perspective I guess it just is not possible to have Day Balances and Hourly Balances which is a shame.
