    HI MSDAX,

With enough permissions on the journal table, you should be able to unlock it by deselecting the tickbox "Locked by system".

If the system locked it and the user session created it is still alive, you probably cannot deselect it. Then first end this session and then retry.

I'm admin and there is no user loged in, the checkbox for "Locked by system" is grayed out. Any other options I can try?

    Thanks,

If you make sure there is no process running which actually does lock this journal, you can go to the AOT, search for the table LedgerJournalTable. Then open the tablebrowser. Find the locked record and then untick this field in the table browser.

    Hello MSDAX,

Did unchecking the box in the table, through the AOT, resolve your issue?

Go to the 'Blocking' tab and check if you can remove the 'In use' tick box

Please verify and update us with your findings

On the blocking tab the in use check box is clear.  The System lock check box is checked and cannot be unchecked from the blocking tab.

I endorse Nitesh's answer, lol I'm not sure where to find the AOT.

    Hi rodp,

The AOT is short for Application Object Tree which is in fact the object window in the development environment. I had seen this issue at several customers. When a user has enough permissions, the locked by user should be cleared automatically if the user session which caused the lock is closed. Locked by system is due to posting the journal and the process was interrupted for some reason. In that case the user should have permission to unlock the option 'Locked by system'.

I can't remember the exact steps for the correct user permission as it has been some years ago on AX2009.
