Cancelling an event entirely

I am looking for a guide how to cancel an event from the organizer stand point.

Use case example 1:

There's only one week to an event and the organizer notices that only 2 people have registered for the event. They want to cancel the event and send information about this via email to all to the registered.

Use case example 2:
There's a conference coming up but the main speaker gets really sick and cannot make it. There's no one to replace him/her and organizer wants to cancel the event and send information about this via email to all to the registered asap.

Also there is the need to handle the registration records in a way that they won't show up on the Contact Insights as "Attended". "Canceled" is fine because I don't believe there's a way to do a custom status for this use case. If so I'll be glad to know!

    Obviously you can change the event status to cancelled. This will remove it from the event portal.

    For your first scenario, you could create a segment of everyone registered for the event and send out an email confirming the cancellation.

    If people had already registered for the event then you will see that registration against their contact record. But they will not show as attended. (As they won't have been checked into the event.)
