Hi,

We are using NAV 2009 Classic version from which recently updated to 2009 R2. We customized Classic as per our requirement.Nearly 100 objects been modified from standard version.

2009 R2 upgraded now is only with standard objects. My question is

1) How to move customized objects from Nav 2009 Classic to 2009 R2 ? &

2) Where to view the object designer in 2009 R2 / how to develop a "Run Object" short cut in classic menusuite so that it will  be visible in 2009 R2 too?

Thanx in advance for all your replies.

Prabakaran M

    1. You need compare the objects and merge the changes you have done. For this you can use Araxis or Beyond Compare tools.

    2. Are you using RTC in NAV2009R2?

    Are you talking about Menusuit?

    Thanx for your reply.

Yes.We are using RTC in NAV 2009R2.

You are right that we should compare and merge the objects.

But in RTC we are not seeing the object designer itself. How to do in that case?

You have to do all development in Classic Client only.

Earlier we used to modify forms and now we have to modify pages.

You have to move all changes done in forms to pages also.

    Thanx for you reply.

Can we upgrade directly from NAV 2009 Classic Client  Version to NAV 2013 R2 RTC version  ?

We just upgraded a client from 2009 classic to 2013 R2 in one step.  Well there are many steps, but merging the object was done once. the changes to forms were redone in pages and reports were changed to include RDL section.

The database was opened with 2009 R2 exe first then 2013 then 2013 r2.

Here is the steps mentioned by MS on how to upgrade from 2009 r2 to 2013 R2.
