Do you mean the database log table sysdatabaselog?

The business uses of database logging include the following:

1.Creating an auditable record of changes to specific tables that contain sensitive information.

2.Monitoring the use of electronic signatures.

By default, all transactions that have been signed with electronic signatures are logged.

Hi Rahul

the log table might be useful if things suddenly change data and you want to find out what might have happened.

We once had something triggered by a certain action, a certain source documentlines disappeared, we found out by setting up this log. Keep in mind that the more you log, the slower the system becomes.

In this article they explain it and also show you how to set it up.

Hi Rahul,

I would go and agree with the explanation of Will WU.

Most of the time you need the database log to prove auditors what has been changed on a record, who has changed the record and when.

Especially if you work in sensitive industries such as the production of pharmaceuticals being able to prove those things is critical because you might lose your license if you cannot prove and validate such changes.
