When making a new item to AX 2012 R3, the item's production type is usually "BOM" by default, which is fine and we don't need to change it. But there are chances when item has been made and then the production type is "None" which gives an error when we want to create a BOM using the item code. I know I can change the production type under the released product details, but I'd like to know how does it happen that when item is made, sometimes by default the production type is "none"? Does anyone know or have had the same experience?
PS. I'm not usually making item codes in AX, we have other people doing it in our organisation. When I tried to create the same issue, I couldn't do it (my item codes were by default production type = BOM) but somehow we have a lot of item codes which production type = NONE and I can't figure it out how.
