Dual-write multiple legal entities and accounts

Hi,

What would be the best way to work with multiple legal entity sync with dual-write for accounts in CRM.
We understand that if the same Account is across several legal entities (lets say 5 legal entities have same account created) that in CRM that account will be duplicated 5 times.

So how we should work for the best clarity, we want to see in one place all of the account information (who is working on what, all the tasks, related opportunities etc, etc) should we create a custom entity where we would make all of those 5 accounts as child records.

How would then Parent account field would work?

There is a lot of uncertanties when it comes to having multiple legal entities data sync to one CRM. What are the best practices dealing with account records for best visibility of user progress

Dual-write by default will create duplicate accounts in CRM if the same account exists across multiple legal entities in your Finance and Operations app. Here's how to tackle this challenge and achieve better visibility in CRM:

1. Leverage the "msdyn_Company" field:

Dual-write introduces a hidden field called "msdyn_Company" (Microsoft Dynamics Company) on the Account entity in CRM. This field links the CRM account to the corresponding legal entity in Finance and Operations.

2. Utilize Views and Filtering:

Create a custom view in CRM that filters accounts based on the "msdyn_Company" field. This allows users to see accounts specific to their legal entity.

You can create additional views for different filtering needs, such as by industry or account type.

3. Consider a Hierarchy Entity (Not Recommended for Now):

While creating a custom entity to hold the "parent" account and link the five individual accounts as child records might seem appealing, it's not the best approach for now. Dual-write doesn't natively support hierarchical relationships between entities. Managing this complex structure would require additional development efforts.
