Import data (Data Management) - set lookup field to empty/null

Hi,

After many google searches, I am unable to find an answer to what I suspect is a simple question.

As part of our Business Central integration, I need to delete all pricelists in CRM.

To do this, I need to update all existing orders to have an empty pricelist.

I can do this manually - however there are 24,000 orders in the system.

SO I exported all orders (including pricelist column) to excel.

Changed all pricelist columns to have no value and did the import.

All orders still had a pricelist :-(

Can anyone advise how to update the pricelist to be empty via data import?

I could do it via flow but...

I would have to write it

I suspect it will take a looooong time.

Stan

Hmmm - may be premature - Turns out I had a business rule that set the pricelist on the order if the pricelist was null - so it distracted me when I looked at the order - and I assumed the data import had not worked!

I am suspecting in addition to existing, new orders might have been created without pricelist.

So make sure you have extracted the orders as dynamic worksheet instead of normal static sheet.

Additionally I would recommend to use instant power automate flow to clear pricelist from all the orders.

Lastly, make sure there is no business rule, plugin or workflow (including power automate) is active that is setting the default values to the Pricelist field.

    Hello Stan,

You can use "Bulk Data Updater" in the XRM Toolbox it will take probably less time than power automated flow to update this records.

    Thank you,
