NAV Word layout placeholder conditional ? - and related questions.

1) There has been a previous question like this for a complex scenario. My requirement is much simpler.

My layout is for report 206 Sales Invoice. In an invoice item line I want to suppress the print of quantity, unit price and amount if the fields has no value (zero).

Is this possible?

2) Also I want to shorten the place holder names to fit into my layout. I can do  this and the layout looks fine, but next time I re-open the word template the original place holder name is restored and the layout is looking messy. The resulting output is ok, but when editing the layout its rubbish. Any suggestion?

Nice look with shortened names:

 Billede indsat i tekst 1

Messy look after re-open:

 Billede indsat i tekst 2

3) Is it possible to add fields to the xml data? In the xml data for report 206 there is a field CompanyInfoBankAccNo, but I also need to print the Bank Branch no. and I can't find that in the xml data. Will it be possible to add this field?

Well I tried to search a little harder, and found an other thread that told me how to switch invoice layout from 206 to 1306.

This makes my job a lot more easy :-) but still the 3 questions in this thread is still valid and relevant so if you know any good answers please post.

    hi,

    some suggestions on points 1-3.

    1) no, only on dataitems with SKIP function (and filters on dataitems)

    3) use a global variable and load data on it, after publish global variabile in fields list (like RDLC); you can't add a field\variable on XML data manually.

    Hi Roberto

thanks for reply - but I have no idea what it means :-)

I guess what you are telling me is something that requires developer skills? I don't even have a developer licence.

yes... you need a NAV developer skill... and a developer license.
