Areas driven when sales order received, no stock

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I have been asked to produce a flowchart to show which areas of the ERP system are driven when we receive a Sales order for items to manufacture but there is no stock available and how sales are informed of this.  We currently use MPS and MRP, i am new to these and would really appreciate some help.

Thanks

M

First of all you can set the "Stockout Warning" feature from sales & receivable setup so when the sales order line item get insert, system will check the stock and if found less then the order or any shortage then it gives message at the time of booking the order itself.

You can also explore the available to promise or capable to promise feature from order promising option to commit the delivery date on sales order. this is available on sales order action and also on the line actions.

    Regards,
