Oracle Virtualbox crashes with AX demo VHD

I'm trying to install AX2012 R3 demo in Win10 and I'm having problems.

My PC (running Win10 64bit) doesn't have Hyper V Manager (but I guess I could get it if this is preferable) so I'm using Oracle Virtualbox. The virtual hard disk seems to have been attached to Virtualbox with no problems, but when I try and start the VHD it crashes. (see error logs attached).

Can anyone advise me:
1. if I can access a cloud version to avoid any installation problems?
2. assuming there isn't a cloud version is Virtualbox a good method or should I use something else?
3. why is the VHD crashing in Virtualbox?

    Hi Mark,

    If you have specified wrong parameters for the VM, it may indeed crash. E.g. SCSI adapter is not working.

    It is very easy to enable the Hyper-V feature on your Windows 10 machine. I would suggest to use this. The VM is initially build for Hyper-V.

    Please make sure you have selected Windows Server 2012 64 bit as the operating system in the Operating system in the VM settings.

    If you can provide a screenshot of your VM settings it will be better
