Hello!
We are trying to take a statement of a ledger account in AX 2009 using the native "Account Statement" report in the form Chart of Accounts.
We have the option to print it out with total by month using Specification : Month and Posting Layer: Total as shown below.
It used to return the statement with a month wise total as shown below. (This is a print out taken in 2017).
Now it returns a statement with all transactions month wise instead of the total. (Shown below).
The same with all ledger accounts. Is there any reason why this could have happened? Or are we missing something.
How can we get a statement with totals month wise.

Here's a clearer screenshot for your reference.
Thank you Dr. Ludwig for your reply. We have the option to use "Period Balances" to bring the balances per month for ledger account and then print it via auto-report or export the form to excel. However we greatly prefer the original account statement and it looks authentic when presented to the auditors as opposed to the auto-report which we then have to format.
May I ask, how selecting the "posting layer = total" works in the system, where is this total actually taken in the report and where can we make modifications if we want to?
The report is "LedgerTransStatement" and below is a screenshot for the generated design with the fields.
What I am looking for is to locate where selecting posting layer as "total" translates to in the report.
Good Morning,
It seems strange that things worked ok in the past (2017) but do not work the same (2018).
Have you tried resetting your usage data to ensure that no 'hidden' filter or setting causes this outcome?
As an alternative, have you opened the ledger account in the chart of account and used the buttons on the right.
In aX2009 there is a specific button that shows you the monthly balances of an account in an online form.
Maybe that is an alternative if the report does not give you the expected result.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Anyone having any idea about this issue? :) Thanks in advance!
