How can let MRP consider stocks in quarantine warehouse?

Dear All,

Our purchasers are now really suffered by MRP results.

We create a quarantine warehouse in AX. After post product receipt, materials are moved to quarantine warehouse. The status of purchase order is updated to Received.

But when system run MRP, we find that AX generates new planned purchase orders, system don't take stock in quarantine warehouse into account completely.

Please, who can suggest how I can let AX consider the quarantine warehouse stocks?

Best regars,

Since you receive all Purchase orders into your quarantine warehouse, an easy solution is to setup your main warehouse to refill from quarantine.  Master planning will then create Planned transfer orders from quarantine to main warehouse, and then after net with the on-hand in quarantine, will create Planned purchase orders in quarantine.  This approach basically just aligns the setup of master planning with how your inventory actually flows.

For example, assume for an item you have 50 in main warehouse, and just received 20 into quarantine, and you have a sales order for 100.  Master planning would create a Planned transfer order for 50 from quarantine to main warehouse to cover the 100 demand from the sales order.  The net of the 20 on-hand and the -50 planned issue would leave -30 net in quarantine, thus a Planned purchase order for 30 there, exactly what you'd want between 70 total on-hand and 100 demand between the two warehouses.

Thank you Brandon, I trid your solution. But I can't set the quanratine warehouse as refill warehouse. The quarantine warehous doesn't displayed in the refill warehouse option.

That's news to me.  I know that transit warehouses are ignored by master planning, and it seems a quarantine warehouse can be enabled for master planning, so it's odd to me that you can't refill from a quarantine warehouse.  But, you're right, the drop down only shows standard warehouse.

If it were me, I would consider trying it anyway with a little customization to see how it works.

I don't work with quarantine warehouses much.  Perhaps someone more familiar can chime in with some ideas.

    Are you using Quaratine Orders?

The quarantine order creates a receipt transaction into the main warehouse that is seen by master planning.

I don't think you should use a quarantine warehouse without Quaratine orders.

I agree with Tim here, the inventory transactions will have the stock going in and out of the quarantine warehouse into the end receipt warehouse - which should be part of planning because it is recreating them afterwards. Are you using quarantine orders? If you are have you modified the routine in anyway for any reason to impact on inventory transactions etc.?
