Changing accounting currency in Ax2012 R3

Hi all,

We need to prepare a scenario for accounting currency change at a certain date. All I could find related to AX2012 R3 is this link:

However, this is just a walkthrough how to achieve it, but I would like to see a bit more, what actually happens and how. Also, I need to now what happens in the "transition" period - for example, the accounting currency change happened on 01.04.2022. However, just after the change a document (e.g. late invoice) with date in march is received, and of course, it is in the previous currency. How this cases are handled?
