Dexterity Program issue

Hello,

Following are the steps i did but when I try to open My Customized window in Test Mode. Nothing happens . Infact I get the message that I need to run the Dynamics2.exe utitilities and after this Window gets closed . nothing happens . Can anyone let me know what I am missing?? Down below are the steps I did:

  • I copied Dynamics. exe and paste it on my folder GPCustomization saved on my local computer desktop
  • Renamed Dynamics.exe as Dynamics2.exe and open the Dexterity using Dynamics2.exe
  • Designed a new window and defined a new table and fields (Note that Table and fields are not created yet)
  • Copied GPDWin32.dll ,  Dex.ini and  paste it on my machine Dexterity 18 Folder ( C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dexterity\Dex 18.0) on my local machine. Note that Dexterity is installed on my local desktop whereas the GP is installed on server. 
  • wrote script on Triggers but not sure if the script will work or not. 

Can anybody check my SCRIPT and let me know if it will work or not???

Note that I don't have installed DEXSENSE  and SUPPORT DEBUGGING TOOL. The only product I have Installed is Dexterity on my local machine where as GP Or SQL server are installed on Terminal server.

Since the dexterity was showing me the message that I need to run Utilities so I tried to run the Dexterity Utilities but I don't know what options do I select?? Can You please let me know with the screen shot??

    As mentioned, Please install GP in your local and set the dex.ini as

    Initial=FALSE

    Synchronize=FALSE

    AutoDisplayUpdate=TRUE

    1) copy and paste the Dex.ini from Dynamics GP\Data folder to Dex\Data folder.

    2) copy and paste the GPDWin32.dll from  Dynamics GP folder to Dex folder

    3) open the dexterity, go to your custom code and add click debug button.

    4) click red color dot button called toggle break point to enable it in your code section.

    5) compile the code and go to test mode(Ctrl+T).

    6) go to your customised screen event. the debugger mode get enabled.

    7) press step in to see your code operation.

    8) press step out to get exit from your code.

    Thanks Nattis for such a great help. Finally I got some success on dexterity program but still there are some issues

    As per your advise, I ran debug,but was unable to check the values of any expression. Was I missing some thing??

    In Test mode, please find Expressions under Debug option.

    just copy the variable\set code to view values.

    Hello Nattis,

    Thank you for Such a wonderful help. Now My program is running fine in TEST mode in Dexterity. but can you help me that how can I add my customized window under Additional menu option on Vendor Maintenance window in GP.

    I have 2 Questions:

    Q1---The save and delete button on my CUSTOM Window have interchanged their positions in Test Mode whereas in screen Designing mode in Dexterity, they are on different positions. In this regard, I checked the Position left property,of both save and delete Buttons but every thing there seems fine. 

    Q2--- WHAT TO DO IF I WANT TO add a menu item  UNDER ADDITIONAL MENU. pLEASE NOTE THAT THIS ADDITIONAL MENU OPTION SHOWS UP ON VENDOR MAINTENANCE WINDOW IN GP. ?? 

    We use Dexterity source code control (DSCC). tHIS SOURCE CONTROL HAS repository for all resources, scripts, etc.

    My question is how do I add my menu item  under Additional Menu?? . Please note that this ADDITIONAL MENU shows up on Vendor maintenance window in GP.

    What i am trying to do is that First user opens up the vendor maintenance window , and then select a vendor id . AND THEN PRESS A TAB KEY. AFTER THIS IF the user clicks on Additional menu then it should show my menu option too so that when user clicks on my menu item , it should open my customized form/window.

    You can do either via dexterity triggers or by VS tools extension.

    for Dex Triggers:

    Please refer dex.chm >> Function Libraries >> Trigger Function Library and check the appropriate trigger.

    in this you need to set the triggering point to fire your screen and its action.

    for VS Tools:

    Please refer the below two things which is similar to above requirement.
