Override Tax Transaction POS

Good day.

i'm hoping someone can help me with this.

i need to setup tax exempt customers, so that when a customer is selected in POS that is tax exempt that it would remove all tax from the transaction. is this a setup that needs to be done from AX and replicated down or would this require development on the POS side?

what i have done so far:

1. Added a 0% TAX group and added it to the customer

2. in the AX retail Menu i have added Tax overrides and Tax override group

3. on the Store setup i have added the Tax override group.

4. Replicated this down.

but when i select the customer that is Tax exempt POS still adds Tax, is there something that i am perhaps missing? i have even tried adding a new button and adding 'override transaction tax from list'. It brings up the 0% Tax group and warns that it is about to override tax, but nothing happens.

any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello B.A.,

Have you setup all retail scheduler jobs and processed them?

    Please see e.g.

    Good day Ludwig.

    Thank you for your reply.

yes all retail jobs have been setup and i have run job N-1080.

i can see the correct Tax codes in Retail tables in POS database, everything looks right.

i have also run N-1070 job to send stores down after adding 0% tax setup of store.

i have taken POS development over from the previous developer, so im wondering if this is supposed to just be a setup issue or if the previous developer has perhaps done some custom coding which is somehow overriding Taxes.

is this supposed to work as a setup or is there development involved to make it work?

    Hello B.A.,

I am not aware of any development that would be required to make this work. Maybe there has something been done in your system environment but at least the standard application should work without code developments. You probably need to check and go through any documents & code that your predecessor left you...

    All the best,

    Ludwig

    Hello B.A. ,

It seems ok. Which AX Version are you running on? Can you possibly check the following hotfix KB2985330 that was released with CU9. Hopefully this hotfix can help you overcoming your problem.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    good day Ludwig.

i think i figured it out, i missed the tick 'use customer-based taxes'

i updated the setting and it seems to work now.

a big thank you Ludwig for taking the time to assist me with this.
