Find Created On date of solution components (custom fields)

Hi,
In our system we have hundreds of custom fields, created by different publishers over the years. I wondered if anyone knows of a simple way (other than using Solution Layers, which is pretty manual) of running a report to show Created On for custom attributes? I just need to be able to sort by created on for these fields to know who created what and when.

I have researched a bit and only found this article so far:

I know that Metadata Document Generator does not include Created On info for attributes.

I figure I could possibly get this created on information from SQL, but I do not wish to do that.

Any ideas?
