Performance issue for large volume transactions posting in Dynamics GP

Hello guys, recently we received an inquiry from our prospect customer asking how long does it take to post 100K transactions (Sales invoices), and we have tested out in our testing environment (20 CPU cores with 140GB RAM) with 10K transactions posting, however, it still took around 50 minutes to post which mean posting 100K transactions could take up to around 6-7 hours. Is there anything that we can do to improve the performance of Dynamics GP posting?

    Shuyi,

You could look at one of the Auto Posting Modules so the Posting occurs silently in the background.

    Hi Mick,

Does it mean customizations? And could I know how well does it help the posting performance?

    Thanks

They are third party modules, one you can run as a service, the other users a gp login.  You can find out more at their websites and maybe discuss your issue:

    envisagesoftware.com/post-master-for-dynamics-gp

I was thinking it could be scheduled for out of Business hours.

    Hi Shuyi

Envisage Software offers a GP auto posting solution that runs as a Windows Service. Multiple instances of the posting engine can be fired up simultaneously making use of all CPU cores to post batches thus significantly reducing the total time needed to post large volumes. If you interested, please go to the web site http://envisagesoftware.com/contactus/ and request a trial version of the product.
