Hi ,

There was a upgrade of the R2 cu6 to R3 Cu10 .the live server is working fine .

For test server our plan was to install R3 Cu10 from scratch and backup the database .

the backup is complete and data is displaying in DB , but its not affected in ax

Please help me to resolve the issue

Thanks

shuhaib

    Hi Shuhaib,

Can you tell if you only restored the data database without the model? This is not possible as the environments do have their own different element ID's.

You need to follow the steps as described in the AX 2012 Upgrade guide.

I assume you meant restoring a database. Just creating a backup file obviously doesn't move data to any AX environment.

Did you restore both databases (data and modelstore)?

    Hi

I have restored both the database

Is there anything other than restore we have to do so that the data is present in ax

    Hi Shuhaib,

Can you provide some more background information? Is the AOS running correctly? Is it running using the correct database parameters? Are you connecting with the correct AX client settings? Did you actually stop the AOS during the restore procedure?

    I have installed R3 cu10

After all the checklist is performed I restarted SQL and stopped ax services and  restored the both database .

The data is not populating in the new environment

can you open AX Client at server (where you restored DB) ..??

If you can open AX Client, can you navigate to following form to know Connected AOS Information

System Administration >> Setup >> System >> Server Configuration

so, are you able to see your accurate AOS there?

in addition open AOT, have a look into few tables randomly can you see data there in tables?

also please have a look at following screen to know which database it is connected to

System Administration >> Inquiries >> Database >> Database information
