Can't preview SSRS report from design view

Hello - I'm using Visual Studio with Dynamics 365 Finance and operations. I'm having the strangest issue, I'm in Visual Studio and I can't preview my SSRS report that I created. In the past (2012), I've been able to right click on the design view and select preview. Now I don't have a preview option. Very strange as I can make changes in design view, I just can't view them. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Hi SSRSGuy ,

That option is not present anymore with D365. You have to deploy your report and test changes through UI .

Good to know, thank you Sukrut! I've been trying to add the report to the menus, but nothing is showing in the UI. Can you send me a link that will walk me through the steps? Thank you!

Did you create output menuitem and add it to navigation (menu) where you want ? If not create output menu item set object type to ssrs report and object as your report , if you are using controller class then use object type as class and object as ur controller class. Then put this output menu item to desired navigation.

Yes, I've added it to an output menu, however I'm not able to add the output menu to the navigation menu. I can't click and drag the output menu to the navigation menu. I must be missing something. Thanks for the help!!

Here is documentation about adding list page to Navigation.

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../cc518832.aspx

Steps are same for adding report to navigation . Also if your question is answered make sure to mark it as verified and close the thread.

    Hi,

    • Create an output menu item. Set the properties as you do in AX 2012.
    • Create an extension of the form where you want to add the menu item
    • Drag the menu item to the extension of the form.
    • Synchronise and build the solution.

    Regards,

    Moeen Ahmed
