Sales order pulling incorrect cost in item details

I am working in Microsoft AX 2009 and our system is using the weighted average by date method which includes the physical value. I noticed that sales order costs sometimes drastically fluctuate and I'm trying to understand why. I'm in the item details and you can see below cost jumps from $183 to $980. I don't see anything on the sales order that shows where it pulled $980 from. Any ideas of how I can find out?

Thank you!

    Hi Cost accountant pdx,

Can you check the inventory transactions by making use of the cost trace function, which should show you the receipt postings that resulted in this high issue cost of approx $980.

This should give you some insights into what happened.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
