Permission for editing form setup

Hi,

I have a problem with the permissions in my installation. I have created a couple of user groups and assigned permissions to them. However, they are all missing the option to access the form setup (by right clicking a form you should have the option to 'Setup' the form). My guess this has to do with the permissions since I, as an administrator, have this option. What permission key enables this option?

Thanks in advance!

Olof

    Hi Olof,

    Hope you are well.

what your looking for is a Configuration Key (not security key).

to setup the configuration keys you need to go to

    Administration > setup > system > Configuration.

if i remember correctly the Key is under the Administration section and is called Advance Form Customization.

hope this helps. let us know if you have any more questions.

    regards,

    Hi Mohammed,

    thank you for your reply!
I was not able to configure this, I couldnt find the configuration key. Under Administration I found 'Full utility', 'Keep update objects 4.0', 'Keep update objects 4.1', 'Presence support' and 'User log'. Please note that I am using Dynamics AX 2009.
Please also note that I, as an administrator, have the ability to use this feature. It can´t depend on a configuration key then, right?

    Best regards,

    Olof

    Hi Olof,

Ahh... sorry about that.. i dint realize that you were using ax 09.

prior to ax09 this was a config key, hence it was company configuration wide rather than per user.. however in ax09 MS changed it (and correctly so), hence its now a Security key.

so go to the user (or user group) > Permissions

    (set View to Security )

the key that you are looking for is under

Administration > Miscellaneous > Form Personalization

hope this helps. let us know if you have any more question.

    regards,

    Hi Mohammed,

it´s my own fault I didnt tell you I was running ax 2009 in the first place :)
Anyway, your little guide here helped me out. Now the users are allowed to customize their forms again. Thank you very much!

Ps. I agree with you. It is wise of them to have made it a security key instead of a configuration key. Ds.

    Best regards,
    Olof
