Ax40: Standard Cost with Ave costing

Hi All We are using standard costing for our manufactured finished, intermediate and raw materials. In the stock model group, the inventory model is set to weighted average. During the inventory close, there are two strange events: 1. When the close is started, an error is given saying that the particular voucher number cannot be used as of the closing date, and; 2. When an item's standard cost is changed during the month, the weighted average closing purchased transaction is adjusted with the "new" standard cost. This results in a standard cost adjustment entry in the GL. The first point: What I understood from the closing routine (and as such explained by a MS white paper) is that inventory settlements are created during the close and when this routine has finished, the GL is updated. In our instance, why is the GL being updated during the closing routine? The workaround is that we need to set the "accept duplicate voucher" setting in the GL parameters. The second point: This seams to be a contradiction in terms of the summed weighted average model as the purchased transaction should be the sum of quantity and amounts of all "open" purchased transactions for a particular item. Why would this transaction then be adjusted by the closing routine to that of the new standard cost? Also, the corresponding issue transaction do not get the same adjustment? This seams not logical to me. Anyone that experienced the same as described? Would like to hear your opinion. Regards Eddie
