Hi experts, we tried to update the unit cost in the Revaluation Journal for some items since the unit cost has dropped, but has the error: You cannot revalue individual item ledger entries for items that use the average costing method. In the old version, we are doing it all the time and it is fine. Please advise! Thank you!

When you are using the Costing Method as "Average", I don't think that you can revalue inventory for individual item ledger entry.
While calculating the Inventory value, you need to select the "Calculate Per" as Item on the "Calculate Inventory Value" window.
