Quick Send through Gmail

We recently switched over to GSuite and are having some trouble getting emails to send using SL. I set up a user/mailbox just for sending through SL. 

I've turned on Use Less Secure Apps (this was needed for another issue we were having)

I can log into the user account and send/receive emails at gmail.com

I've updated the instance of Outlook on the SL App server to use Gmails SMTP servers

I can connect to the account and send a test email from Outlook using the new SMTP/account settings

However, when SL tries to send an email using the Quick Send button the email starts to send (according to the attached log) but then fails. My understanding is that SL must use Outlook, but Outlook can be configured to use Google's services to send emails. Are there any other considerations for sending emails from SL through Google's servers?

    Hello ,

    Could it be that VSTO located in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\SL\Applications\OutlookAddin

    directory...the client (outlook must be running and the user running outlook (profile) must be logged into the machine.

    I've sent QS to gmail, but I've not used gmail actually as the account that would do the sending of the email, my guess is that its probably not tested, since its a MS product.

    Well, what's strange is that we're simply plugging Google's mail server info into Outlook. I can send and receive emails when working directly in Outlook, but SL isn't able to.

    In case anyone else runs into this issue, restarting the App server solved the problem. I'm guessing this type of configuration change only gets picked up when the system starts up. We're able to use the Quick Send feature again.
