Are you using RTC or Classic client? Would you mind to specify or send us an example?

    Thanks!

You mentioned that only some of the reports are taking a long time to be generated.

Can you please specify what reports are those and where are they located? Are they standard of customized?

You need to go through the code and check if there is any repetitive codes and loops within the report.

There are several reasons for this issue, it could be the data itself is too large to generate or poor development of the report.

Try to use proper keys for tables used in the report or create new ones and use them.

What kind of report is this ? Try to send the report object i can look into that.

The most effective way to try to improve NAV performance is to locate the source of the specific time consuming process. In order to accomplish, if you are a Dynamics NAV customer you need to get in contact with a NAV partner to help you with this. Only a team of specialists can guaranteee sucess on a change for your system and can also be held responsible for the consequences caused by the change.

If you are with a customer and you let "some stranger" on a forum modify your system, you can't have the certainty the required support will be given to you in case something goes wrong :)

Now, if you are with a partner and this question comes from a request of a customer of yours, then yes, you need to optimize your code by doing the things the other people have previsouly said on the forum and always making sure you're not sacrificing preexisting features by doing so.

    Hi,

Since your report is customized so it may be possible that there could be unnecessary variables used in your report or could be repetitive loop or it may also possible that your report contains too much customization to fetch a lot of records or your database is too large.

    Thanks

Are you using a new report or is a copy of an existing one??

I agree with the comment of Jose Castro.

I don't think anybody on the forum will have the time or will opt to modify the system, we can provide some suggestions based on our experience and ultimately it is the user responsibility to apply those suggestions in the test system (i.e. if he has the permission to apply to the changes) and test them. If he satisfies with the result then he can deploy the changes.
