Release Sales Order Picking - Viewing Items Not in Stock

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by

When viewing the release sales order picking form, I need to see all items that are on the sales order.

Standard functionality automatically filters out an item if I have zero in on-hand inventory, but I still need to see the item.  The alternative is opening the sales order and figuring out which item is on the sales order, but not on the release sales order picking form.

I can't find a parameter setting or filter to manipulate the form, so it looks like it might be a filter change or commenting out some code in the background.

    Hi,

You are right that this form does only display the on-hand lines (same as the release transfer order screen) however you will need to think about what you will be using this screen for because you will not be able to release the picks for stock currently unavailable either (hence the reason it is excluded from the form).

My suggestions would be to setup a filter on the inquiry 'open sales order lines' (Sales and marketing > Inquires > Order status > Opens sales order lines) that you save into your favourites from their you will need to jump into the sales order itself to actually release the pick but it could help...

However if your company is looking to release stock for picking that is not on-hand then I would expect it to be a release at an order lever rather than a line level. So you might want to look into creating a filter on the standard SO screen and saving that.

Let me know if that's helped, if not please do ask again.

    Regards

yes, this what you are looking standard Dynamics AX does not provide.

and you need to go for a customization.

if properly analyzed and implemented it will be effort of 12 - 16Hrs to implement the customization.

Please verify and let me know if need any support customizing it.

Patrick, that does help, but I am slightly confused by your statement.

I just need to see on the release sales order picking form that item 99 is causing my order to not be a possible delivery percentage of 100% rather than drilling down into the sales order itself and comparing what is on the sales order versus what is on release sales order picking.

Let's say I have a sales order with two items on it; one with plenty on-hand, the other with zero on-hand.  If I move forward with the customization to add the zero on-hand item to the release sales order picking form, are you saying I won't be able to release that order to be picked?  I don't see how adding the zero on-hand item to the release sales order picking form impacts whether I can pick the item(s) I have plenty on-hand for.

    Hi Kyle,

Apologies I don't think I worded myself very well. What I meant was that you would not be able to release the zero on-hand line to be picked (you can do this from the sales order - pick list screen) but if your not looking to release pick list for items not held onhand then you should be fine :)

    Regards
