Multiple sites for a Dynamics 365 portal

Hi. Our customer need multiple sites for their new portal; they are a sports company and need a site with special branding for each of their brands. What would be the best solution for this in a portal? Can we have one portal for each brand? Or can you have multiple websites inside one portal?

    Hi,

You can have multiple portal web sites and can customize each website based on the requirement. If you have already got one free portal instance, you need to buy another one. Another option to single website and control the look and feel based on the users but this will require more development efforts compared to first option.

    Hope it will help.

Thank you for responding. Can I have an infinite number of portals for my instance? And wouldn't that be expensive? They are a solid $500 each?

I was thinking more in the lines of multiple sub websites? Any smart way to make copies or templates of websites inside a portal?

    Hi,

I am not award of any limit for the number of portal instance but yes you need to pay $500 for each new instance. You can reuse and copy templates from one to another. I will also suggest you to refer similar thread which should help you :community.dynamics.com/.../234337

I have found the solution to our needs; multiple websites and website bindings: docs.microsoft.com/.../websites

This enables us to have a main domain for the customers main page and sub sites for each of the brands.

For each website record, you still need a Portal Subscription.  What that means is that there needs to be a "master portal" (which is what costs $500 each) that points to each website record.  The documentation is a little deceiving, and doesn't point this out.  AdxStudio did have a concept of child sites, but I believe that was deprecated a while ago.  Also, creating a new website record from scratch and trying to add all the various web templates, pages, profile pages, site settings, content snippets, etc. is a very tedious and frustrating process.   I am going to post a seperate reply with an alternate solution.

I wrote a blog outlining a method that I have successfully used in the past: readyxrm.blog/.../building-a-multi-brand-dynamics-365-portal  I hope it helps!
