RE: Is it safe to UPDATE [HOLD] value on RM00101 in SQL? (GP 2010)
Thank you for using Microsoft Communities. This is Andrea, and I will assist with your question today.
We always recommend you make changes via the front end of GP to ensure you get desired results. If you have a lot of customers that need to be put on hold, you could look at creating a simple integration with Integration Manager as that still uses GP (like running a macro in GP), so if any errors were to occur, you’d be able to see them and address them vs. updating data in SQL.
In core GP, when you put a vendor on hold the following occurs in the tables:
- The HOLD field in the RM00101 is updated to be a 1.
- The MODIFDT in the RM00101 is updated to match the system date.
- The MODIFDT in the RM00102 is updated to match the system date for the PRIMARY address record associated with the customer.
Now, I can’t speak to any 3rd party tables/customizations. If you have any of those in place, there could be other tables that should be updated when you place a customer on hold.
Hope this helps!
