Hi Forum,

Have read some blogs and some forums discussions but those are related D365 FO. Tried to follow the same in D365 Talent. Need your suggestions here.

I need a generate some document (Ex: Employee contract letter) based on selected employee record. These are the steps I followed:

  1. Go to Sys Admin > office integration > Excel workbook designer
  2. Create a blank document
  3. Open the downloaded file > Design templates with respective entities and fields > Save it
  4. Go to Sys Admin > office integration > Document templates
  5. Create a new record > upload the above template > Save it
  6. In above step, ensure that the option "Apply current record filter" is enabled
  7. Go to employees form > Select the employee record > Click on office icon > Select the word template saved in step 5
  8. System throws error: The filter for the export could not be determined.
  9. In the step 5, I disabled the option "Apply current record filter" >> Performed step 7
  10. System is generating the word template but it has records of all employees.

I want to generate this based on the employee selected but not for all. Plz lemme know if I missed anything. Also, can I design based on multiple entities.

Cheers

Pawan

    Thank you, Aman.

I tried to use HCMWorkerEntity as you suggested then could generate the document.

    Hi Pawan,

You can use HCMWorkerEntity instead. It has only one key (Personal Number) and it holds almost same fields as the one you are using.

    Possible issues:

Worker table is NOT "Save per data company".

    HCMEmployeeEntity has four keys.

This error comes when code is not able to get root field name from field list.

    Regards,

    Aman

    Hello,

I could be wrong but what you are trying to do is not possible using OOB from D365 HR. I have seen it done using Power Automate. see this blog post empowerdynamics365axusers.com/.../
