According to the docs (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/assembly-how-to-undo-assembly-posting) I should be able to pull up a posted assembly order and choose the "Undo Assembly" action. Although a visible menu item, it is disabled. Is this a bug, or am I missing a step or two?
The button will be disabled if the posted assembly already reversed or it was posted with an order(assemble to order).
In this case the item was "assemble to order". The product was returned by the customer and is now in inventory as an assembled product. We need to "disassemble" the product so that the components are in inventory. How can we accomplish this?
If your order has not been invoiced, you can go to Posted Sales Shipment and undo from there.
If it's already too late, you can do an item adjustment: negative FG and positive RM.
Please advise how to do an item adjustment of negative FG and positive RM. The order has been invoiced and I cannot undo assemble.
