Difference Physical Dimension Groups and physical dimensions (Warehouse)

Hi you Warehouse Fans all over the world,

i have been working with the Location stocking Limits so far. But in some Environments (like mixed pallets) it is neccessary to use the physical Dimension Setup.

Scenario, filling up pallets with different products up to the Maximum so they still fit in the Location.

My Question:

in regards to physical Dimension i will Set up the location on the location Profile. ok!

but the item itself, i find 2 different ways. i get the physical Dimension Group and also the Setup in the tab "mange inventory" where i can also set up physical dimensions.

what exactly is the difference between thoose 2? in regard to location stocking Limits and also containerization.

thanks guys!

This will give you some insights- also read the comments. Location stocking  limits and multi product locations don't really work the way you want I suspect and the maintenance might be complex if you have  frequent product changes;  More concerning for me is the likely impact on performance on what might be a lot of calculation if you have many transactions and many possible mixed product locations
