Hi all

I need advice on the following.

Is it possible to setup workflow in the inventory module. The scenario is as follow: a user enters a new item into the inventory table. A supervisor need to check the item details, if ok it is routed to a manager for final approval, only then can the item be used in transactions.

    Dear Riaan;

    The answer is yes, because we have created for PO and SO, than you can create for Inventory.

    You need to create a workflow object in aot, and build the query so you can include the query for conditioning the workflow process as you need

    Hi Riaan, as Kusnadi mentioned, you surely can create a new work flow on item Creation.. however i wanted to point out some of the issues you (or the developer) can face: if you are developing a work flow around forms that dont involve posting (items, customers, etc) then you need to think about what exactly is the Approver approving?? because the item has alredy been created.. you will need to stop the item.. and also add a status file on the invent table for the work flow. what i wanted you to think about is, check if the stopped functionality satisfy your requirement?? because if some one rejects an item.. it could potentially be sitting in the invent table and a user might accidently unstop it.. Unfortunately in base ax there isnt a concept of Product Lifecycle Management. also refer to the work flow documentation on MSDN.. it is really good. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc585061.aspx let us know if you have any more question. regards, Mohammed Rasheed
