Workaround for 1096 on GP 18.3.1173

Posted on by 5

Hello,

I updated several customers with the 18.3 update (Fall 2020) mainly for the purpose of printing the 1099 NEC forms. While the 1099-NEC forms are working after the update the 1096 will not print for the 1099-NEC.

After some research, I found that the 1096 only works if I install the Year End update so the client is on 18.3.1200.

Some of these clients have many companies and workstations so from a cost saving standpoint, I am looking to see if there is a shortcut to avoid doing this just for the 1096 form. Any suggestions or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

David

    Hello David,

As you mentioned this is fixed in the Year-end update, so we would like to see clients get on the latest update if possible.   There are no supported work-arounds, but you can manually sum the amounts fields in the 1099 table (PM00204) to get totals, or save it to Excel and total it in there by type/box number for the year, but you would be on your own to do that.

    Hope that helps.
