custom portal authentication

Posted on by 459

Hi

I need to create a sign-in page that only allows users to enter a valid email address. if the email exists in the system, let them in as an authenticated user. How i can do this?

Details of the scenario:

step 1: I have imported all staff contacts into D365

step 2: then I try to create a page for users to authenticate themself with their email only. When users enter their email, the portal page checks contact entity. If a contact exists with the email, the portal page set the current portal user to the contact record and allow users as authenticated users.

I tried to modify the local authentication sign in page in Portal.  Since the sign in page is hidden. i am trying to create a new authentication page with the email address field only.

Please advise me what steps i need to do to authenticate user with email address and set the current portal user with the contact which allows getting user id in any of the page flow.

thank you,

Ranjinie
