YTD account date issue

Posted on by 25

Why do the YTD account takes up a general ledger posting date of 01-01-1900?

Every time a transactions is posted to income/expense a one sided entry is automatically generated to YTD Net Income which is correct.

However why are these transactions all dated 01-01-1900?How to fix this?

    Dear Sandy,

The date would come from gltran, since there are no gltrans then it can't assign a transaction date.

It seems that this is by design.

    Hello Carolyn

The version of SL is 7.0, here is were the one sided entry occurs when a transaction is posted to income and expense directly to the balance sheet. These one sided transactions are all dated 01-01-1900.

    Hello Sandy,

There is no date on that report. I don't see where I can put a date on this report.

Do you see a GL batch ?  What version of SL are you running.

    Best Regards,

When I pull the Trial Balance report and detail general ledger reports I see the year to date account transactions all dated 01-01-1900.

I’m not sure what date you are looking at or where do you see this date...... but 1/1/1900 just means the date is null.  The date field has not been updated.  If  looking at a crtd_datetime or lupd_datetime, that just means the application is not updating that field.  When a record is created or updated, it’s not a sql function that updates those fields.  It’s the application code and some application codes don’t update the fields.  That would be a bug or an oversight.  I don’t think there are any applications that would deliberately not update those, but there are applications that don’t.

Where do you see the date?

    Best Regards
