Dear Experts,

In my company have multiple units, except India. In india we are running the NAV 2013..It is running smoothly. For future, we have a plan to upgrade in NAVISION 2016 . In my Germany unit we want to start with NAVISION 2016 Version. My NAV 2013 version all setup and customization will work in Germany or not. We will face any language problem to views the all reports/tables and pages or not?.

Manish

You Need to merge the customization as Germany Version of NAV with be W1 + Germany whereas Indian version is W1 + India.

For Data, you can actually do this -

    1. Do a Data transfer using rapidstart, you can only transfer data for W1 Field as IN Fields will not be there.

    Hi,

You can implement NAV2016 in germany by having Germany localize version and for all setup you can export from India company and import in germany using rapidstart tool. Dont upload the tax setups from India as Germany will have different taxation and these setups you need to manually setup.

    Hi Manish,

In addition to what other experts have suggested, I would like to add that, If you are just worried about your Customization [from 2013 to 2016], it should work. And also most of the setups are similar in both 2013 and 2016 version.

There is of course many changes from 2013 to 2016 but the key is how you do your upgrade process. If you have managed to keep your customization in your isolated object range then it is always good when you upgrade. Also make sure you use the standard upgrade tools for objects and the data as suggested by other experts.

Agreed with Saurav. You need to merge the customizations and import them to 2016 DB. Then you can do a data transfer using Rapidstart.

Just a small question, why going for 2016 when 2017 is already available.

You would most likely need a German localization to run in Germany (however depends on your specific requirements - might be you could even use your Indian version for that). Agree with others, you need to merge customization and import them to 2016.
