Hi All,

When some users are trying to open the data entity template through excel add-in, they are getting the following error:

An Error occurred while retrieving the row count of entity Ledgerjournalheader. Error details: User not authorized to read view LedgerHeaderEnitity. Request Denied.

Only one user facing the issue other users having the same roles are able to upload journals.

Please provide me steps to solve this issue.

Hi Vinod,

Ensure the role(s) assigned to the user has a privilege containing permissions for the entities LedgerJournalHeaderEntity and LedgerJournalLineEntity. Can you verify this?

Thanks for the reply. Checked the roles another user having same roles able to upload journal.

Please provide me steps how to check user has a privilege containing permissions for the entities LedgerJournalHeaderEntity and LedgerJournalLineEntity.

Hi Vinod,

Please confirm I understand the issue correctly.

Only one user is not able to open the Excel due to the error message "User not authorized to read view LedgerHeaderEnitity". Other users can use this feature without troubles. All users have the same roles assigned.,

If I understand it correctly I would suggest following actions:

- delete usage data for the user and try again

- ask user to login from a different machine and try again

- delete the user and create again

I tried adding security privilege "Maintain ledger journal and ledger journal line entities" to the user role and it worked.

Hi Dinaz,

we ran into the same problem but the security privilege is not the solution from my perspective.

The problem we had was because users do have limitations on entity level - if you apply a role which has no limitation on organization level it always worked for the user. Applying that privilege globally could lead to users accessing data which they should not access via Excel-Addin.

We tracked it down to the default company of that user. The default company of the user card had the wrong setup because the user was not allowed to access that company.

We think that this might be something related with ODATA as the system is always checking the default company.

But changing the default company to one which the user has permission solved the problem w/o changing existing privileges.
