Microsoft AX Enterprise portal access is denied

We added an active directory group to site permissions on the SharePoint server through the enterprise portal url.

when we add news users to this ad group we still get access is denied even though I can verify through there ad name that they have design access through the ad group.

If I add them explicitly they do not get access is denied. However we don't want to give each user permission, it is much easier for us to add an AD group for Enterprise portal.

what seems strange we had a person who was added to the ad group and went in the next day, and they don't get the access is denied error.

Can someone offer insight?

When you add users to an AD group it might tske some time when all servers are synced and aware of the changes. So youncan indeed retry some hours later or the next day. If it them still shows the access denied, please share a screenshot of that error. Then it can be confirmed if it is related to Sharepoint or AX user rights.

Interesting I cant find anything about a sync to reflect changes that may happen in AD groups by google.

It is the standard : Access Denied  message you get from sharepoint if the user does not have access.

Can you confirm if all users get access while waiting a while or are there still users which were e.g. setup a few days ago and still get this error?

I ran a test last night with a test account. Everything is ok today. no more access denied message. so it is definitely some sort of synch or job that takes time. This is only if we are using an AD group and im adding the user in the group. if I go to the security of the Enterprise portal and add the user explicitly they have instant access.

It's certainly behavior that is good to know.
