    Hi Amit,

This AOS license is not mentioned in the license file. It is only mentioned on e.g. customersource but still part of the official license. The Application Object Servers is now (as of AX2012) mentioning 11750 regardless the real number of AOS machines in the license. However you may not exceed the number of real licensed servers. Otherwise you have to buy additional licenses.

So how to find out whether i can install AOS on 2 servers? Or is it fine to install it on 2 servers.

Look at how many licenses you've bought and whether it is a production environment (because you don't need license for dev and test instances).

If it doesn't answer your question, please explain what you're looking for.

    Hi Sudhansu,

Read my answer above. It is not stored in the license file; only in your purchase contract. In the on-line users form you can see how many AOS machines are running.

    Hi guys

In prior versions of Dynamics AX you could not start multiple AOS instanses above the number of AOS instanses listet in the AX license form.
But what about Dynamics AX 2012 R3? Could it be that the system just starts acting weird?
The reason i am asking is I have taken over a customer running on 5 AOS instanses. A 6th one is listen but not running and two of the instanses is running on the same mashine. In AX license form it is listet: Application Object Servers - 11750 - Business Essential. But going through partnersource i see: Ax servers equals 3 and furtheron when i open the license letter: Application Object Servers = 11750. I am a bit confused.

My  investigation startet with slow aos performance in different AOS instansen when online users on the specifik AOS increases 10 without the CPU is fully committed in any way.

Thanks in advance for any comments on this

    Hi BFM,

You should separate the license and performance. They are not related. The license in partnersource with the number 3 is the current number of AOS machines licensed. If the customer is using more, they should buy additional licenses. The number 11750 is a technical number. It is possible to setup more AOS machines, but the customer is responsible for the correct licensing. Microsoft has the right to verify the use and license.

For the performance issue, you should start monitoring what processes are running on that machine. If there are 10 really heavy users, the CPU might be a bottleneck which can be solved by adding cores, another AOS instance or review processes within AX; mainly focused on customizations.
