Add entity to regardingobjectid list

Posted on by 550

I have a custom activty that must be able to regard different types of entities like organization , product and a few other custom entities.

Regardingobjectid field does it nice but it has not Product entity in the list. How can I add it?

Alternatively you can create your own custom regarding field on your custom activity as lookup to product entity if OOTB field is not supporting Product entity.

Just think in this direction and proceed.

    Hope this helps

This is normally done by enabling the 'Activities' option on the entity (in this case product) properties (under Communication & Collaboration).

However, unfortunately it is not possible to set this for some system entities, and the product entity is one for which this cannot be set

    Hi Partner,

You can add custom entities to regarding field with tutorial below:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../enable-a-custom-entity-to-appear-in-the-regarding-lookup

However, it seems that other existing OOB entities such as Product couldn't be added to regarding object, the option is gray and disabled.

Please create additional custom entities to save records from OOB entities as alternative.

    Regards,

    Clofly
