Hi Team,
There is a situation where my client is having 15 Legal Entities and the requirement of my client is to share all the data within all legal entities which i already did using copy into legal entity functionality.
But they want that if any changes happen in one legal entity, then it will automatically make that same change into all legal entities. I can use Cross company data sharing, but it is limited. Can anyone help me if there is any other way to achieve this Requirement?
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
Could you please tell us which process you want to share data across legal entities? Is this a custom feature?
Hi Arunraj,
No, its OOTB. I want to share full module between legal entities.
Example. If i do any changes such as add or delete anything in AP module that same will happen in all other legal entities.
Hi Daizy,
The cross company data sharing feature is one way to go. Microsoft has recently introduced a new master company sharing feature in preview, so you'd better check this out as well. Cross-company data sharing overview - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn
Many things like customers, vendors, payment methods, payment terms, item master, can be shared out of the box. In order to suggest you a better solution please describe why do they need this and specifically in which areas?
What exactly can't you share using cross-company data sharing that you do want shared that you currently cannot?
You can need to evaluate if you can use cross company data sharing for specific entities that you use via copy into legal entity in data management framework (DMF). For example you can active Customer groups (CustGroup) in Configure cross-company data sharing
and delete Customer groups from your DMF copy job. It should be taken into consideration that Configure cross-company data sharing has it own limitation (learn.microsoft.com/.../cross-company-data-sharing).
Therefore, you need to specify entities that you use via copy function in DMF and evaluate which ones can be applied via Configure cross-company data sharing, then you can transfer the some load to cross-company data sharing.
What you asking is (Example. If i do any changes such as add or delete anything in AP module that same will happen in all other legal entities. ) is contradicting the concept of having legal entity itself. You can share masters or some particular type of transaction but not entire module.
Would like to understand the requirement from other aspects.
-- Do you even mean that all these LEs are having a shared CoA, customers, vendors and so on?-- And what changes you are expecting to be made which needs to be reflected in similar records in all LEs?-- Are you using all customers and vendors as same intercompany sub-ledgers across all LEs?
