recurring locking/contention issues on several critical tables

We would like to report a critical incident affecting our production Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environment integrated with LS Retail.

For five months, we have been experiencing recurring locking/contention issues on several critical tables, which are having a significant impact on our retail operations.

Affected tables:

  • Sales Line

  • Item Ledger Entry

  • Item Journal Line

  • Preaction

  • Isolated Storage

  • Analysis

  • Replen Planned Stock Demand

These recurring locking issues are causing significant performance degradation, operational disruptions, and delays in retail transactions. We would appreciate Microsoft's assistance in investigating the root cause and providing recommendations to mitigate or resolve these locking/contention problems.

    Hi,
just to be careful - that screenshot only prove the symptom, ILE locked by another session during a warehouse receipt. It does not tell you the cause yet, so I would not commit to one thing. Five months across that many tables can be more than one issue.
Where I would start digging: Inventory Setup, if Automatic Cost Posting is on and adjustment set to Always, posting try to adjust cost inline and lock ILE - worth ruling out by setting adjustment to Never and running Adjust Cost - Item Entries as a night job queue. Then No. Series, if Allow Gaps in Nos. is off it serialize people on the same number. And Preaction with Replen Planned Stock Demand are LS replenishment, check it is not running in the POS peak.

But really you want the actual blocking data, who block who and the SQL, before you decide. Which version you are on?

    Hope this help.
