How to set up a Business rule for Content settings per Customer Journey?

Hi Community,

Would anyone happen to know how to set up a business rule to set specific Content setting per Customer Journey?

We have an organisation, with multiple users for Marketing. We have set up Email Templates for Customer letters, Newsletters and Event Invitations. We have specific Content settings for these as well.

I have also set up Customer Journey templates to use with these communication types, but my issue is that I cannot set a default value for Content settings per Customer Journey.

I have already tried to create a Business rule to set this value. Basically Customer Journey that uses Newsletter template, should also use Newsletter Content setting. I'm able to set up the Business Rule, but it does not seem to work upon testing. Business rule seems to work fine with setting suppression lists and default sender name + address.

Any advise?

Thanks in advance! -elisa

You can modify the content setting in the marketing email on the second tab.

    Hi,

    Thank you Clofly!

I think the issue for my Business Rule is that I used 'Set Default value' action and this field already has a default value (Default Content Settings).

Thank you so much! This seems to fix the issue I had :).

    Have a great day!

    Hi elisak,

I tested with business rule and it works well, below is my steps.

    1. Create a business rule as below:

If I choose Announcement, then Content settings field will be updated to "my content setting".

If I choose Customer Onboarding, then Content settings field will be updated to "my content setting 2".

    2. I choose Customer Onboarding template when create a new customer journey.

    3. After all necessary tiles are populated in Designer, then when I open General tab,

    the field has been changed.

Could you share how did you configure them?

Actually, I think it is because this field is pre-populated with system Default Content settings value. I cannot find a business rule/workflow that sets this value and therefore am unable to deactivate it to make my own business rule to work.

    Any advise?

    Thanks!
