Does "Do not email" have to be included in a subscribe form?

Hey there,

I am trying to setup a subscribe form that I will either embed on an external website or add to a marketing page where I will drive paid traffic to either of those pages in order to grow a database.

The issue that I am having is that anytime I try and create a subscription center form I constantly get the error where I need to include the "Do not bulk email" checkbox, but as I am driving new traffic via paid ads where the only intent is to get people to sign-up to a particular database why would I want to include an unsubscribe option? This seems really counterintuitive to me.

Does anyone know of any work arounds? Or is there an alternate way of setting up subscribe forms where I can bypass this error?

Thanks

DJ

    Hi DJ,

Please refer to the following section to know more about "Do not bulk email".

Set up a subscription center (Dynamics 365 Marketing) | Microsoft Docs

As long as your marketing form is of the subscription center type, it must contain this option, which is actually equivalent to unsubscribe.

As we know, an unsubscribe link is required for commercial email, and when it is clicked, the marketing form will be opened. The contact ticking the option means the contact will no longer subscribe the subscription center.

    Hi Nya,

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond, I really appreciate it.

I understand that this field is required for subscription centres when an unsubscribe link is included in a commercial email.

What I am trying to do is setup a subscribe form to drive new traffic to, where a potential contact has never signed up to a subscription list before, so it seems counterintuitive and potentially confusing for the contact to see an "Unsubscribe" or "Do not email" checkbox when they have never engaged with our company or list in the past.

Is there an alternate form type that I could use that doesn't have this as a requirement, if subscription centre must include it?

    Hope that makes sense.

    Thanks

    DJ

    Hi DJ,

How about using landing page form? (Reference: Create a landing page (Dynamics 365 Marketing) | Microsoft Docs)

It does not have to contain the option and it can generate new contacts/ leads or update existing contacts/ leads according to matching strategy.

Thank you Nya. I think that this will work. I appreciate you taking the time.
