Changing currency format to Indian Format for a real field

Hi all this is nandhini working as Technical consultant I was trying to change the amount(Real Field) to a Indian Comma format, For Example: 6 Lakhs rupees should be displayed as 6,00,000 in Indian comma format But it was displaying 6 Lakhs rupees as 600,000 Format, I tried to convert the real number to string and splitting the string number with comma's and also I have changed the thousand separator property of the edt of the field and changed the form control property But I am unable to achieve this .How do i change this?

A real field doesn't have a format - it's only displayed in a given string format (taken from user options by default).

Converting the number to a string with a particular format is possible, but it would influence this single form control only. All other real controls in the whole application would still work as before. Introducing this inconsistency would make things worse, not better - at least in my opinion.

If you want to change it globally, open User options form, switch to Preferences and change the value of Date, time and number format.

Hi martin thanks for the response,

I have an amount field in a form having a comma separator like 10,000,000 and I want to show as 1,00,00,000

How to achieve this. I tried your way but doesn't helped me out ?
