Data export is no way to backup database. Use database backup. DBMS have exceptional tools for backups and restore to help you not to lose any data in case of a failure.

You need to restore application files if you want to (re)build the application, either because the environment failed or because you want to return to a previous version of your application. It obviously has nothing to do with data in database.

    Hello Martin

Thank you for your Quick Reply

So if one of users for ex delete invoice or something i need to restore the database from the MSSQL studio ?

and if yes is there any steps needed in the system like sync or something?

    Hi Ahmed,

AX 2009 stores data into MSSQL server database which can be backed up and restored as normal routine in SQL server, have a look on this link for more details www.serverintellect.com/.../database-backup-ssmse

For your question "If someone deletes invoice....." Yes you can restore this invoice from your database if it exists in your previous backup. You may lose new data which was entered by users after the last backup was taken so you need to be very careful in that case.

On the other hand all your AX 2009 customization stores in .AOD files which can be moved across different systems and you can copy Application folder as a backup too.

Once you restore database from MSSQL all you require to sync your application from AOT.

First of all, users shouldn't be able to delete invoice journals. If they can, you have something wrong in your system and you should fix it rather than keeping it allowed and then dealing with consequences.

If you want to restore the database to how it looked at some point in past, then use database restore. Yes, you can use SQL Server Management Studio for that. Nevertheless note that this is disaster-recovery scenario; disasters shouldn't be a norm in your process.

No, you don't need any synchronization, assuming that the application didn't changed in the meantime (and if it did, you should restore it too, to get a compatible versions of your components).
