New filter in CRM 365 near to global serach

Hi Folks,

Can any one tell what is the new in filter which is near to global search.Although this filter works same as advanced filter.
But I have noticed the below things in this new filter -

1. Look & feel is more nice as compared to advanced filter.

2. When searaching on Lookup fields on condition Equal is populates data as dropdown which lets as to see the available data.

But still I dont know the very good reason for introducing it . I also didnt find any thing in MS DOC.

This CRM is online and Aprl 2020 Wave1 updated

Please advice.
