Dynamics 365 - Opportunities

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello, we have some opportunities for a specific user, where the CRM form contains a date (actualdateclose) X and when consulting the Commom Data Service the same field appears with a later date.

And we also have a case that when entering an opportunity won or lost with the CRM administrator user, the current closing date (actualdateclose) is automatically updated to the current day, even though it is not possible to edit the fields.

Has anyone experienced any of these cases?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Matheus.

    1. the same field appears with a later date

    Please refer to https://aslamsumayya.wordpress.com/2019/09/19/how-to-work-with-time-zone-issues-in-crm-date-field/

    https://community.dynamics.com/365/b/d365demystified/posts/date-and-time-field-s-time-zone-behavior-in-d365

The main issue arises because CRM converts date entered into the CRM UI (e.g. 19/9/2019 12:00AM) to UTC (e.g. 18/9/2019 2:00PM) when storing it.

Additionally  there should be a consistent time zone,  which can be used as the execution time. For this a TimeZoneUtility can be created to convert date and time to system time zone, stored in the Dynamics 365 system settings.

The behavior of the "Actual Close Date" field is Date Only, which is locked and cannot be changed.

    2. When closing the opportunity, the Close Date defaults to the current date, which is by design. Can you tell me your concern?
