Hello there,
I am looking to create a report (powerBI is preferable) that I can give to the admin users of Dyanamics to run on a regular basis.
The report needs to list who has a Dynamics Licence (preferable by type, i.e CE,CM or Teams), and their last logged in date and/or number of records updated or created. The idea behind the report is to flag up unused licences so they can be freed to other users.
I can get some of this data from the Data Usage reports in PowerPlatform, but it only returns those that have used the system in the past month. It doesn't tell me who has a licence and hasn't logged in. We do have Auditing turned on in Dynamics, so I can get the Last logged in Date from Dynamics for users. I can also get the Licence type assigned from the O365 Admin portal.
So what I have been doing is manually exporting from these 3 systems (O365,Dynamics, PP) to cross reference this data. Its really manual/clunky, especially as D365 Usernames are not always The O365(AAD) Username.
Is there a better way of doing this, preferably in an report that doesn't require manual hand cranking? Can PowerBI use connectors to get this data from O365,Dynamics and PP to get this info?
Hello, Ian!
It seems that UDS License Calculator can help you, check it here: https://uds.systems/add-ons/license-calculator
This add-on shows a license usage analysis for all users of the system during the set time period. It allows to figure out what prepaid features remained unclaimed by users and recommends the most beneficial licenses. Recommendations are based on information about licenses that is constantly updated. You can also plan budget for the future adding/removing features in live mode.
It's interesting what elements might need to be visualized in your opinion. We will be glad to get any feedback from you)
